Norcal SBDC Procurement Series- Starting Oct. 1

Have you been thinking of expanding your business through government contracting?

Unlocking Government Contracts: A Procurement Pathways Series is a five-week online training and mentoring cohort offered by the Norcal SBDC ProBiz to help entrepreneurs scale their business through government contracting. This 5-week online program helps small business leaders navigate the government contracting space. Business owners will learn the fundamentals of government procurement, how agencies buy goods and services, and what it takes to become procurement-ready. The program will also cover how to navigate California's procurement system,  understanding solicitations, and the financial preparation needed to successfully compete for and perform government contracts.

There are five 1.5-hour cohort workshops to attend. All workshops will be online webinars, and participants should attend all sessions! The program will run from October 1, 2026 to October 29, 2026. Webinars will take place on Thursdays from 11:30AM to 1PM with time for Q&A during each session.

Live webinar participation is required for those who would like to receive a certificate of completion after the course. The dates and times for the 2026 cohort training program are:

October 1st, 8th, 14th, 21st, & 29th from 11:30AM to 1PM

Session 1: Understanding the Government Contracting Landscape

Session 2: Finding the Right Government Contract Opportunities
Session 3: Doing Business with California Gov.-Guest Speaker-DGS 
Session 4: Competitive Responses to Government Solicitations
Session 5: Bonding, Insurance, Financial Readiness for Gov. Contracts

All information requested on this application form will be kept confidential within the Norcal Small Business Development Center Network. The Norcal SBDC ProBiz is a program hosted by Cal Poly Humboldt.  

Once we have your application and completed client sign up, we will let you know if you have been accepted into the program.

Program Requirements, Certificate: If you complete the following requirements, you will be eligible to receive a Certificate of Completion. 

• Attend all 5 webinar sessions 
• Complete an intake interview if not a Norcal SBDC client 
• 1 or more advising sessions with your Probiz specialist 

Once we confirm your application, you will be officially enrolled in the program and receive instructions on next steps
