Contractors Reminded Their License Name is their Contract Name

The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) reminds contractors that the company name filed with CSLB and assigned to a license number is the only company name that is licensed to contract.  When advertising, completing a contract, updating information with CSLB or renewing workers comp/bonding with CSLB, use the company name as licensed.

If you’re not sure what’s there, look yourself up at www.cslb.ca.gov

Contracting in California is challenging enough without running afoul of contract or license law.  To get paid, you need to be legally licensed, work within your class and contracts must reflect your legally licensed name.
